With a profound love for wine

An ambition to create something by himself, an inner curiosity, and a profound love for wine, its colors, its perfumes, its charm, its word, led Alberto Viberti on a path to become an independent winemaker.

You’ll be excused if you walked past Alberto in the center of La Morra and did not take notice.  He has been part of the famous "barolo" town's fabric since he was a young boy, learning the ropes at his family’s winery, Cascina Ballarin.

An ambition to create something by himself, an inner curiosity, and a profound love for wine, its colors, its perfumes, its charm, its word, led him on a path to become an independent winemaker.

Supported by nonna on the mother’s side, Alberto currently makes two wines from vineyards (nonna’s) in Sommariva Perno, Roero, in Piemonte.  The Barbera from 35-45 year old vines in a south-east facing vineyard, the Langhe Nebbiolo (LogHero) from 15-20 year old vines in south facing vineyard, you can almost feel the energy of youth in his wines.

The illustration on the wines’ label is inspired by street art Alberto fell in love with on one of his travels.  I am inclined to think Alberto identifies with the guy on the tightrope, and I look forward to a time when all of you get to meet Alberto (either by visiting him in La Morra, or when he comes to visit here north of the wall), and I think you will understand what I mean.  Even his wines express this kind of extreme balance.
