A family estate since 1929. The new generation breathing life into it.
A reflection of our hard work throughout the seasons and of the delicate vinification process, allowing you to appreciate the grand vins of Pommard.
Jeanne Joillot and Simon Goutard is the new generation continuing the tradition of winemaking at Domaine Joillot. They bottle 12 different wines from different appellations spread over 14 hectares at the heart of Burgundy.
Domaine Joillot dates back to 1929, when Jeanne’s great-grandfather, Robert Joillot, and his wife Marthe (the Pommard baker’s daughter) started vineyard work and the production of vine plants. Later joined by their son, Georges-Adrien (who died suddenly in 1971), and then grandson, Jean-Luc in the early 80s. In this period the estate grew from 6 hectares to 14 hectares of land, and they started to bottle their own wines.
Today, Jean-Luc’s daughter, Jeanne, and Simon (his wife’s son) have quietly taken on the challenge of making quality wines with a sense of terroir whilst preserving the environment.
Currently, the wines age for 12 to 14 months using 20 to 30% new barrels, then bottled in winter without filtration. Two whites, and 10 reds. One Grand Cru, four Premier Cru, and 7 village and regional appelations.
